We started
the day off in Trafalgar Square. St. Martin-in-the-Fields is being renovated.
You can see the scaffolding in some of the shots. They also had funny pictures
of the church members in hard hats.
We tried to
do the Original London Bus Tour today, but none of the buses came by. So
instead, we walked down to the Banqueting House (another of the Historic Royal
Palaces). Fantastic! It was really an awe inspiring place. After that, we walked
to Westminster Abbey to do the tour.
Last time
we were in London, we found George Washington in Trafalgar Square. This time,
we found Abraham Lincoln in Westminster.
We took the
Tube to Harrods for some shopping. We went back to the hotel for a while, and
then that evening, went to the Ceremony of the Keys at the Tower of London.
This was an amazing experience, if you are going to London, write ahead and get
your tickets. When you exit the tube station, you can see some of the original
Roman wall.
We got some
great shots of the Tower at night.
They had an
ice skating rink set up in the moat.
We also got
some general shots of the area while we were waiting on the ceremony.
