Flew from
Columbus to New York. When we got to the ticket counter in New York, we found
out that our flight had been cancelled. We were rebooked on another airline,
and after running through the airport twice, caught a flight from New York to
London.
Landed in
London. Our transport didn't realize, we had arrived, but they came to pick us
up very quickly, and drove us to our hotel in Notting Hill. After checking in, we
walked around the neighborhood a bit and went to the Portobello Road Market for
some shopping and lunch.
We went
back to the hotel and settled in, and then walked through Kensington Gardens to
Kensington Palace.
We joined
the Historic Royal Palaces. This gets you into Kensington Palace, Hampton Court
Palace, Kew Palace, the Banqueting House, and The Tower of London for one
price, and gets you a 10% discount in the restaurant and the gift shop. If you
are planning on visiting three of them in your visit, it will cost you the same
amount. We enjoyed the exhibits in Kensington Palace, especially the Diana
exhibit. We ate dinner/tea at the Orangery.
We walked
through the rest of Kensington Garden, out to Kensington High Street, did some
shopping, and headed back to the hotel for the evening.
