We took the
Tube to King's Cross Station. While we didn't get the picture of Platform 9
3/4, we did get one of the outside of the station. Yes, we're geeks.
From there
we walked to the British Library. The Magna Carta was fascinating and Patti was
really excited to see Jane Austen's writing desk, a copy of Persuasion in Jane
Austen's handwriting, and Jane Eyre in Charlotte Bronte's handwriting.
After that
we took a bus to the British Museum and had lunch at the Museum pub across from
the museum.
We saw the
Rosetta Stone and explored the Egyptian galleries.
We also saw
the Elgin marbles!
We also
toured the Enlightenment gallery. Patti found a tea set that matches her corn
mug.
We spent
the evening shopping in the Oxford Circus area, and then took our third
Original London Walk, "Ghosts, Gaslights, and Guinness".
